Hello Year 5, how are you all doing? I hope you are all safe and well and are taking care of yourselves and your family.

Last week, it was my niece’s birthday. It felt strange that we couldn’t all celebrate together but she still had a lovely day and I know that we will arrange something special in the future.

On Friday 8th May, we will celebrate the 75th anniversary of VE Day. VE stands for Victory in Europe, when the Second World War came to an end in Europe. In May 1945 there were many celebrations across the country and a national holiday was declared. This Friday the celebrations that were planned may now be slightly different, but we can still make it a special day.

The Royal British Legion have compiled some resources containing video clips and activities linked to the VE Day celebrations. Use the link below to find the resources.
