Image of How well do you know your movies?

Hi guys,

How have you all been? Hope you are all enjoying the half term, although it probably doesn’t seem much different to the previous weeks! At least you’ve had a break from the online learning (hopefully!) and you’ve been able to get out a little bit more and maybe visit some loved ones, socially distancing of course. It was my dad’s  85th birthday so I went over to see him with Mrs Smith, Lucy and Ben. He lives with my mum in a place called Marsden in Yorkshire so we went for a lovely walk up in the Yorkshire Moors. Have you been out to visit anyone you’ve not seen for awhile?
It was great speaking to you and your parents over the last couple of weeks. I loved hearing about all the things you’ve been doing, remember to send me any pictures to smitha@st-hughlincoln.trafford.sch.uk so that I can share them with the rest of the class on our blog page.

On Saturday I watched the launch of the Crew Dragon spacecraft live on YouTube. Two astronauts, Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley set off into space on a 19 hour journey to the International Space Station (ISS). SpaceX (Elon Musk’s company) sent these two NASA astronauts into space from the same launch pad in Florida as the Apollo 11 Moon landings of the 1960’s. If you missed this historical event you could watch it again on YouTube. There are some really interesting videos about the International Space Station online, I especially like this one:

Next week there will be a new online learning plan. As we’ve always said try and do a couple of hours of work each day, especially some reading and maths exercises. I’ve also set you another quiz, this time all about the movies. Email your correct answers to win a prize.

Missing you all so much, have fun, stay safe and above all keep smiling!
Hopefully see you all soon, lots of love,

Mr Smith & Mrs Walker xx
