The Thank You Gift

Mrs. Willows read our new story book with us today. It was called “The Christmas Pine” by Julia Donaldson. It was about a pine cone that grew into a tall tree, the tree was growing in a forest in Norway. The townspeople cut it down and sent it by ship to England. The tree was put up and decorated in Trafalgar Square in London. Our teachers explained to us how this really happens each year, and that the tree is a gift from Norway to Britain for helping them a long time ago. We watched a video about the real Christmas Tree, we were able to match the pictures from the book to the video.
